The Glens of Antrim Historical Society was founded in 1965, by a small group of keen
local amateur historians who lived in the Glens of Antrim, Northern Ireland. It's
primary purpose was to provide a forum for studying the history and traditions of
the Glens of Antrim, of preserving such knowledge and of providing its members with
social and cultural entertainment, largely in the form of lectures throughout the
Winter from October to April. There is usually a series of 8 monthly lectures, held
on the third Friday of the month. The venue and title of each lecture is provided on
the programme . We are a non-profit making organisation whose sole purpose is to
heighten an interest in the history, traditions and folklore of The
Glens.
