Annual General Meeting held on the Poltalloch Estate

The 2009 Annual General Meeting of Clan MacCallum Malcolm Society of North America, Inc was held on July 28th, in the magnificent setting of St Columba's Church on the grounds of Potlallich Estate.  Over 50 members and guests were in attendance.  Our Clan Chief, Robin Malcolm was the host of the event.  The ambiance of the Church was graced by a beautiful arrangement of flower and Rowan Tree branchs and berries prepared by Patricia Curry.  Reverend Roy Flatt proceeded our Annual General Meeting with a short service focused on the words of St. Columba. Prayers were offered for those members that could not join us in Scotland due to illness and for those individuals that have gone before us.  The business of our Society was conducted swiftly with various reports of our ongoing activities.  Concluding the meeting was the election of the officiers.  Congratulations to Lon McCollum, President, Jim McCallum, Vice President and Kinloch McCollum, Secretary/Treasurer. The Annual General Meeting was only a small part of two wonderful days in the greater Kilmartin area.  A special thanks goes to Andy Malcolm, Robin's son, for providing for two wonderful meals.  The weather cooperated as we had a barbeque on Monday night.  After the Annual General Meeting, Andy provided a sit down meal for about 60 complete with the the famous Address to the Haggis.  After a day of sight seeing, Robin and Trica opened the Castle and Gardens up for tours.  It was amazing to see the beauty of the Castle and to learn more of the tales of the resident Ghost.  Thanks to all who participated and to our host for making this a most wonderful & memorable event.
