Bonnie Brae Scottish Festival & Highland Games
Location
The 24th Bonnie Brae Scottish Festival and Games being held on June 5th at the Bonnie Brae School in Liberty Corner, NJ (just off of Route 78 at Exit #33 - halfway between Easton, PA and Newark, NJ). As in the past, we'll be hosting Highland Athletics and Highland Dance competition, smelly sheep being chased by hungry dogs (just kidding!), British Cars, re-enactors, singers and billions of pipers and drummers in competition and in parade - ok maybe not billions but literally hundreds (last year 27 bands with over 600 pipers and drummers). Plus - our Clans and Fraternal Organizations - you!!!If you've been with us in the past, you know that ours is everyone friendly. The vendors overlook the entire event taking place right in front of their tents, those attending enter and leave through the vendor area and we do our best to make sure that you have "the best seat in the house". The two dozen plus fraternal organizations are across the field and not hidden away. Our brawny men (and a couple of ladies) toss the caber and sheath at one end of the field, the pipers compete at the other and in between, the dogs continue to show us they listen better than most of our children! And of course, the smell of fish and chips makes us forget that diet we are supposed to be on! Not to forget the Highland Dancers that cruelly remind us that we aren't even able to stand up without groaning!
